We have a new Viking on board! Erling Braut Haaland makes his film debut in ViQueens, voicing a character with a familiar name: Haaland.
From the football pitch to the king’s crew in Lofotr, Erling Haaland is joining the world of ViQueens. He voices the Viking in both the Norwegian and English versions of the film.
For director Harald Zwart, the connection between the football star and the Viking adventure was a natural one. Haaland’s power, fearlessness and Norwegian identity have made him a modern Viking icon for many around the world. Now he has an animated version of himself, too.
“I’ve also been a big fan of his for a long time, so this is simply a real thrill,” Harald Zwart told VG.
Football comes along for the adventure, too. In the film, audiences will see how Haaland the Viking discovers his talent for the sport. Exactly how that happens is something we are saving for the big screen.
Haaland joins a voice cast that also includes Ella Purnell as Ingrid, Rita Ora as Hedvig and Alan Carr as the Bard in the English version.
